I met Pastor Erika McLaurin while attending Ministerial Classes. She was/is the Director of the School of Ministry and one of my instructors. But beyond that, she is my mentor. When I have found myself in a place of indecision or needing guidance, she has always been there for me with Godly wisdom, knowledge, encouragement and sometimes, correction. When I was discouraged, hurt and broken, she helped me to see myself as God sees me, not for who I was or for my past indiscretions. She supports and encourages the vision and ministry God has placed in my care. She encourages me to step out and believe in what God has placed in me and on my life. Pastor Erika has been my confidante, mentor, teacher, correction and friend. She has prayed over me, for me and for my ministry. I am truly, truly blessed to have her in my life.

For the past several years I’ve had the privilege of serving with Erika as part of the leadership of our church. She has taken on increasing levels of responsibility and demonstrated strong project management skills. In a largely volunteer organization I’ve noted how Erika is able to motivate people to accomplish tasks of all sizes and build consensus. Her commitment to quality is one of the key reasons for the continued success of the ministry. She has successfully led our minister training courses, taught the new member’s class, coordinated large-scale conferences, developed highly functional teams and promoted process improvements. It has been a pleasure serving with Erika and I look forward to her continued success in all areas.
